Please read bottom up! i tried my best doing this on my own! give me higher marks please!



This are the differences between Prokaryotic cells and Eukaryotic. Prokaryotic cells have a cell wall composed of peptidoglycan (amino acid and sugar). Some eukaryotic cells also have cells walls, but none that are made of peptidoglycan.

The flagella in eukaryotic cells are different from the flagella in prokaryotic cells. Flagella are the structures that help cells move. The flagella in eukaryotic cells are composed of several filaments and are far more complex than the flagella in prokaryotic cells.

Eukaryotic cells contain two important things that prokaryotic cells do not: a nucleus and organelles with membranes around them.

Although both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells contain DNA, the DNA in eukaryotic cells is held within the nucleus. In prokaryotic cells, the DNA floats freely around in a unorganized manner

The organelles in eukaryotic cells allow them to perform more complex functions than prokaryotic cells, which don’t have these little organs.

Just like Prokaryon; Eukaryon can be split into two words!
Eu = true , Karyon = nucleus

To differentiate these more complex cells from prokaryotes is the presence of a nucleus, a double membrane-bound control center separating the genetic material, DNA , from the rest of the cell.

Eukaryotic cells contain internal membrane-bound structures called organelles. mitochondria and chloroplasts(organelles), are both from prokaryotes that began within eukaryotic cells.

The organelles are involved in metabolism(rate you break down energy) and energy conversion within the cell. Other organelles within eukaryotic cell carry out many additional functions required for the cell to survive , grow and reproduce.

Eukaryotic cells can reproduce in more than one ways including meiosis (sexual reproduction) and mitosis (cell division producing identical cells).



Now lets get started on Prokaryotic cells! Did you know that Prokaryotic cells have been here for billions of years and were the only form of life. all bacteria are made up of Prokaryotic cells.

Prokaryotes, first living organisms to evolve are distinguished as they dont have a membrane-bound nucleus. In fact, the only membrane in prokaryotic cells is the plasma membrane(the outer part of the cell itself). The genetic material is within the cytoplasm, ribosomes are their only type of organelle.

Prokaryotes are single-celled, except when they are in colonies. The ancestral cells now are represented by Archaea and Eubacteria. Their means of reproducing are by binary fission, duplicating their genetic material and then splitting to form two cells identical to it.

Did you know that the word Prokaryon can be split up into two words?
Pro = before , Karyon = nucles.

Prokaryote cells contains DNA strain in nucleoid, plasmid, ribosome, cutosol, flagellum, capsule, cell wall, plasma membrane and fimbriae.

The cytosol is the liquid found inside cells.

A flagellum is a tail-like projection that protrudes from the cell body of certain prokaryotic and eukaryotic cell.

Fimbriae a short attachment pili that are usually quite numerous.



Few hundred years ago people believed that living things could spontaneously generate from non-living matter which is NOT true.

Firstly all organisms are composed of one or more cells.
Secondly cells are the basic unit structure and function in organisms ( this proves that what people think in the past are not true!)

There are two major classification of cells which are Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells.
